Recently, podcasts have become massively popular across a range of generations for a variety of reasons. They offer access to insights and knowledge that previously required extensive time and money to acquire. Perhaps the greatest advantage to this new trend is its portability. Podcasts can be listened to at the gym, while washing dishes, driving to work, and when you wake up in the morning. It has never been so easy to ingest the information that interests you.
Curious what it’s like to start a business? There are thousands of podcasts that explain how. Want to listen to crazy unsolved crime shows? There are dozens to choose from. Need to be reminded what it means to chase after a dream? Take your pick of podcasts that speak to you.
Below are five of my favorite podcasts focused on arming listeners with the tools to change their life!
RISE Podcast with Rachel Hollis
Stumbling upon the RISE Podcast was a happy accident. I had just finished Rachel Hollis’ first non-fiction book, “Girl, Wash Your Face” and was hungry for more of her content. Rachel introduces listeners to a variety of entrepreneurs, mostly women, that span a wide range of industries.
Rachel’s small town roots make her relatable as she asks her guests for the raw truths of how they piloted a successful company from the ground up. Although the RISE podcast is categorized under “Business”, I’ve found the insights and advice offered to be both inspiring and applicable beyond the world of business.
The RISE Podcast releases new episodes every Tuesday. If you are a fan of Rachel’s books and social media, I recommend giving this podcast a listen specifically episodes #99, #93, and #82. They are foundational in providing tactical tools to change your life.
The Ed Mylett Show with Ed Mylett
The Ed Mylett Show is probably the podcast I look forward to most each week. Ed is acutely in-tune with his audience’s wants and introduces them to guests from all different industries, age groups, upbringings, and perspectives. Ed’s podcast falls into the personal development arena with a strong focus on how to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Several of his recent episodes are titled “Finding Your Focus”, “My #1 Key to Happiness”, and “Living Your Destiny”. The titles are just as insightful as his teachings. Episodes range from 30 to 60 minutes and switch between interviews and solo talks with Ed himself.
Ed values his listeners and puts them first in everything he does. On his Instagram, he gives away free coaching sessions weekly with himself and podcast guests. Although it’s difficult to choose, episodes 72, 75, and and 93 are some of my favorites!
Super Soul Conversations with Oprah Winfrey
If you are not already listening to this podcast, you need to subscribe to it today. Super Soul Conversations is like a Ted Talk about how to pinpoint your purpose. Oprah invites a group of thought-leaders from different disciplines (authors, pastors, teachers, political figures, researchers, etc.) to speak on her stage. They each have roughly 17 minutes to share their heart. I love the idea behind Super Soul Conversations and bringing such empowering people together.
It’s important to note that these episodes do not normally involve Oprah speaking. Instead, it is her organizing a space for others to come and share their knowledge. Super Soul Conversations typically releases two to three new episodes a week with the guest’s name and session’s focus in the title. Episodes currently on repeat are #196, #205, and #206 . If you are searching for your life’s purpose, this podcast will inch you closer to it.
Millionaire Success Habits with Dean Graziosi
If the title of the podcast isn’t enticing enough, Dean’s breadth of experience should be. At 17 years old, Dean Graziosi made his first real estate deal. From there, he went on to create a multi-million dollar real estate empire. Today, he is a best selling author and motivational speaker.
The Millionaire Success Habits podcast is where Dean offers bite-size advice on how to move to the next level in your personal and professional life. The podcast is categorized as “Business” however, I would argue that the large majority of Dean’s content spans into the realm of personal growth and self improvement. Dean usually uploads two new episodes a week that are between 8 and 25 minutes long. My top two favorite episodes include #188 and #198. This is a great podcast to start your day and direct your thoughts!
SHE Podcast with Jordan Lee Dooley
You may know Jordan for her time spent producing #soulscripts on Facebook and Etsy. She is a 25 year old author and entrepreneur that has made a name for herself in the personal growth industry. The SHE podcast targets young women, specifically high school and college age. If you are interested in finding your passion but have no idea where to start, I HIGHLY recommend Jordan’s work. She breaks down purpose in a way that is easy to digest.
The SHE podcast targets ideas like being a multi-passionate person, finding direction for the future, navigating break-ups, and tackling what it means to maintain healthy relationships in all areas of life. Head over to the SHE podcast and give episodes #43 and #23 a listen!
